Keyword clustering
How RankMeFast groups tracked keywords by shared result URLs, and why grouping is arithmetic rather than a similarity score.
Keyword clustering
Clustering groups your tracked keywords by how many result URLs they share, using SERP observations the product already stored. It never runs a rank check to fill a gap.
<!-- docs-truth: metric=keyword_cluster_runs; unit=one-run-up-to-200-keywords; cache-hits=count; refund=none-blocked-keywords-are-reported; cadence=on-demand; estimates=shared-url-arithmetic -->How a cluster is formed
For every keyword RankMeFast takes the top 10 stored result URLs from its most recent observation. Two keywords are joined when they share at least 3 of those URLs, and groups form by transitive connection.
A run covers at most 200 keywords. Membership is decided entirely by this shared-URL arithmetic, so the same stored observations always produce the same clusters.
Readiness and blocked keywords
Only Google-engine keywords with an observation inside the 7-day freshness window take part. Before a run starts, a preflight tells you exactly which keywords qualify.
Keywords that cannot take part are named with a reason — missing, stale, or empty — rather than silently dropped. A run consumes its unit once it starts, and blocked keywords are reported rather than refunded.
Labels and honest limits
A cluster label may be suggested by the AI runtime behind an AI marker. If the labelling pass fails, clusters stay unlabelled — they are never left ungrouped, because grouping does not depend on the model.
The shared-URL count is a threshold, not a similarity score, and a cluster is not a claim about search intent. RankMeFast never invents a keyword, a URL, or an observation to complete a group.
Plans and availability
Monthly allowances by plan are Free 0, Starter 0, Pro 4, and Agency 20.
The surface is gated by the KEYWORD_CLUSTERING_ENABLED rollout flag: when an operator turns it off, new runs are refused with a localized message while stored results stay readable.
