Self-hosting RankMeFast
Run RankMeFast on your own server with Docker Compose.
Before you start
Install Docker with Compose and obtain the project source. Run the commands below from the project directory. The software is free; you pay for the server and any vendor API usage. Keep your environment file private.
Configure your installation
cp .env.example .env
Copy the template, then edit the root .env. Set CLIENT_URL and SERVER_URL for your deployment. Generate separate random values for BETTER_AUTH_SECRET and MASTER_ENCRYPTION_KEY; openssl rand -hex 32 generates one value. Configure live provider selectors, provider credentials, and the email transport described in .env.example. For your own installation, billing can remain PAYMENT_PROVIDER=none.
For a single-origin installation, set APP_URL and VITE_SITE_URL to the same value as CLIENT_URL.
Do not start with placeholder credentials. Production refuses fake providers by default; do not enable demo overrides on a public deployment.
Start and check
docker compose up -d --build
docker compose ps
After configuration, start the stack and confirm all services are healthy. Open the address you configured as CLIENT_URL, create an account, and add your first site.
Keep it running
You manage server security, HTTPS, updates, and backups of the databases and root environment file. Back up before updating. Check service logs if startup fails, and do not publish logs containing credentials.
