Keyword research
Keyword research helps you decide which phrases to target. It is available on Pro and Agency plans. Starter accounts can upgrade to use it. See Plans, limits & credits.
Volume
Search volume estimates how often people search for a phrase on Google each month in the country you choose. It is an average across recent months, not a live counter. Values below 20 can be noisy, so treat them as directional.
Difficulty
Difficulty is a score from 0 to 100 that estimates how hard it may be to reach the first page. A higher score means stronger competition. The score reflects the current top 10 results and their backlinks, but your own site's authority still matters.
Head and long-tail keywords
Head terms, also called short-tail keywords, are usually shorter and cover a broad topic. Long-tail phrases are usually more specific. Word count alone does not define either group, so there is no universal cutoff.
Use Get ideas for a broad set of keyword ideas. Use Find long-tail keywords with one seed to find up to 25 more specific phrases that contain it. The results include volume and difficulty when the provider has those values.
Caching
RankMeFast caches provider results for 30 days because these figures do not change hour by hour. Each long-tail search uses one keyword lookup unit, including a cached search. The system checks your allowance before reading the cache or contacting the provider.

Start from Rank Tracking
When you enter exactly one Google keyword of 80 characters or fewer in the Add Keyword form, you can open Keyword Research with that phrase, country, and language already filled in. Opening the page does not run a lookup or use a unit. You choose when to start the research.
The figures come from a third-party provider and are rounded. Different tools may show different values, so comparisons within one data source are more useful than treating any figure as exact.
