Keyword research

Volume and difficulty in plain words. Pro feature.

Keyword research

Keyword research helps you decide which phrases to target. It is a Pro and Agency feature — Starter accounts can upgrade to unlock it (see Plans, limits & credits).

Volume

Search volume is an estimate of how often a phrase is searched for on Google, per month, in the country you pick. It is an average smoothed over recent months — not a live counter. Values under 20 are noisy; treat them as directional.

Difficulty

Difficulty is a 0–100 score of how hard it looks to rank on page 1 for the phrase. Higher = harder. The score blends how strong the current top-10 sites look and how many quality backlinks they have. A difficulty of 25 on a well-established site is easy; the same 25 on a brand-new domain is not.

Caching

Volume and difficulty do not change hour-to-hour — so RankMeFast caches the answer for a while. If two people on your account look up the same phrase in the same country in the same week, the second request comes back instantly and does not count against your metered usage. If you re-run after the cache expires, we go back to the provider.

Suggestions and questions

When available, we also show related phrases and question variants. Both use the same volume/difficulty numbers.

Note: numbers come from a third-party provider and are rounded. Two different tools rarely agree exactly. Trust the ranking of one number against another more than the absolute value.
